TEAM SCHUMACHER ADDS A
COUGHLIN, MORE TEAMS?
A very reliable source told Agent 1320 that
a member of the Coughlin family will soon be
driving a Pro Stocker for Don Schumacher's
Drag Racing Conglomerate. According to the

source, the deal is done and a Mopar-bodied
Pro Stocker with Bob Glidden Prep and Power
will debut very soon, as in by the next NHRA
national event!
The Agent was told that eventually Schumacher
will add two more Pro Stockers for a total
of three. In addition, the Agent's operative
informed that Schumacher will be adding a second
Top Fuel dragster and that there was still
consideration being given to Tony Schumacher
switching to a Funny Car once the World Championship
is sewed up in the Top Fueler. Should all of
this come to pass, Schumacher Racing would
have ten professional teams and be the biggest
team in all of motorsports. What next the Schumacher
Drag Racing Association? [9-13-2004]
CHI-TOWN HUSTLER REDUX
The 1974 version of Farkonus-Coil-Minnick's
Chi-Town Hustler Dodge Charger is one of the
most historic. That car won the first IHRA
World Championship for Fuel Coupes with Ron
Colson behind the butterflies. DRO was on the
spot when this copy of that '74 showed up at
the Monster Mopar Weekend at St Louis. Although
the body isn't the original piece, the Romeo
Palamides chassis is the real deal. Colson
actually had a chance to sit in the car at
Cordova's World Series but passed at the chance
to drive it at St. Louis. Owner/driver
Troy Martin did manage to do a nice burnout,
but a small oil leak kept the immaculate charger
from making a full lap so that Martin could
get his license. (Jeff
