THE
FUTURE'S SO BRIGHT HE HAS TO WEAR SHADES
The Agent heard from a source inside the Scotty Cannon
camp that the Mohawked One is soon going to have his own
brand of eye-wear. The Agent didn’t get too many details,
but evidently Scotty has backers who want produce a line
of moderately priced sunglasses and possibly other apparel.
The Agent can’t wait to see what kinds of designs
come out of the “Killer Red Mater” camp.

A NEW MUSTANG FOR MATUSEK
The Agent hears that Steve Matusek, owner of the Aeromotive
Fuel Systems company and part-time racer (like fuel
systems manufacturer Barry Grant), has sold his Ford-Hemi
Mustang convertible Super Comp car and is in the process
of ordering a new 2005 Pro Modified Mustang. Rumor has
it that the powerplant for that car will be a fuel-injected
Ford Hemi. While waiting for the new car to be built Matusek
will dust off the Maverick he and his dad have raced for
years and head to Gainesville. [2-3-2005]

MORE MIDWEST PRO MOD CIRCUITS
Agent 1320 heard yesterday that the management at KCIR
will have a five race schedule for Pro Mods at the famous
Kansas City Quarter-mile. The agent also hears that the
Springfield, MO outlaw eighth-mile will have a four or five
race series for Pro Mods also. Add those tracks and races
to the previously announced Pro Mod series at Eddyville,
IA and St. Louis’s Gateway International and Midwest
Pro Mod racers will have plenty of races to choose from
in 2005. [2-3-2005]
FAST, REALLY FAST, FORDS IN FLORIDA
Just in case you missed it Small Block Ford racers Todd
Tutterow and Billy Glidden made some serious noise at a
race in Bradenton Florida over last weekend. Todd Tutterow
pushed his blown small block Ford to a 6.39/219.67 lap competing
in the Outlaw Street class.
Even though the small block “Ford” reputedly
is a clone of the Alan Johnson alcohol wedge motor and it
does have a screw Kompressor, that speed and ET are still
really impressive for any kind of small block and if Tutterow
calls it a Ford that’s good enough for the agent.
Perhaps more impressive though was Billy Glidden’s
unbelievable 7.086 lap. Glidden’s small block Ford
is a true Ford. It features a single four-barrel mounted
we believe on a cast manifold with nitrous added. His lap
made his car the quickest small block Ford (non-supercharged/turbocharged)
in drag racing history. A tip of the Agent's fedora to both
racers. [2-1-2005]
