ROY HILL'S '66 MUSTANG

Roy Hill didn't want to carry the extra hundred pounds mandated
for late model Pro Mods by the AMS/TLR rules committee for
their NHRA series. If he had completed the new 2005 Mustang
he was having built at Jerry Haas Race Cars he would have
had to do that, so he asked Haas to make the 2005 into a
1966 Fastback Mustang and Haas obliged. Here are the first
photos of the '66 Mustang fastback taken a Haas' shop just
after the car was finished. Look for a complete feature
on the car and some big news from Roy Hill here on DRO early
next week. The Agent's lips are sealed but here's a little
hint -- Toby Keith. [1-13-2005]
AT
LEAST THE MONOGRAMED TOWELS CAN STAY
For the last few years it's been Angelle Savoie and before
that we knew her as Angelle Seeling (from a previous marriage).
But now that the three-time Pro Stock Bike champion is in
the process of divorcing former pro football player Nicky
Savoie, she is officially reverting to her maiden name of
Angelle Sampey. Make sure you change those scorecards, kids.

FRANTIC FIFTY-NINE 'VETTE
DRO editor Jeff Burk shot this photo of Ron Muenks brand
new '59 'Vette Pro Mod at the Jeffers Pro Car shops in House
Springs, MO.
Just after this shot was taken the 'Vette was loaded into
the trailer and taken to downtown St. Louis for the annual
World of Wheels car show. Burk tried to get them to fire
the 'Vette and do a burnout but they wimped out. To see
many more photos go over to the Features section of the
magazine. (Jeff Burk photo)
