WILL VEGAS 'SUPER NATIONALS' SEE 200-MPH PASS?
And
speaking of Steve Kirk Jr. (shown), he will also be at
the Street Car Super Nationals held at Las Vegas on Nov.
4-6, along with Rich Zehring. Zehring's nitrous-aided
'70 Nova SS holds the PSCA Outlaw Street record at 7.207.
Former AA Altered Fuel car owner/driver Steve Zehring
Sr. has joined Team AutoLine bringing a new Gene Fulton
engine which should be in place for the Las Vegas race.
Will it be Kirk's quickest East Coast car or the fastest
West Coast car of Zehring which will break the seven-second,
200-mph barrier out West? Or somebody else? We'll let
you know. (Ian Tocher photo)

DIESEL RECORD SET
Darren Morrison of Cairo, GA, set a new ET record of 10.509
in his 1997 3/4 ton Cummins turbo diesel-powered Dodge
Ram on Oct. 15 at Virginia Motorsports Park during the
Diesel Hot Rod Association's Pro Street Shootout. Morrison
ran an all time best of 10.320 in the finals to clinch
the victory, which moved him into first in points for
the series. Morrison looks to better his new record in
the 5600 lb. twin-turbo, truck stop fueled Dodge during
the DHRA Nowel Thomas Finals in Houston, TX on November
12. [10-20-2005]
