ROWE RETURNS TO RACING
Danny
Rowe, who drove for Pro Mod team owner Mike Ashley in
2004 and then sat out the 2005 season, will be back in
the seat of his own car next year. The California racer
has purchased a Tommy Mauney-built '63 Corvette with a
second Mauney car on order and will have power from a
Brad Anderson Chrysler Hemi engine. He has hired Jimmy
Rector to be crew chief.
"I realized from my experiences over the years that
having the best parts doesn't guarantee a championship,"
Rowe said. "It takes good people. Jimmy Rector has
already tuned a Pro Mod to a world title and is the first
tuner that has taken a Pro Mod into the fives. You can
imagine how excited I am to have him tuning for our team."

McMillen's new Top Fuel team (shown), which made its debut
in the Knoll stable at the IHRA World Finals, will again
have the support of Mark Oswald and Dale Creasy, Jr.,
although a crew chief has not been selected yet.
"We'll spend a lot of time this winter making laps
and getting ready," said McMillen, a Funny Car veteran.
"We might surprise a few people early in the season,
but it won't be a surprise for us. The harder we work,
the luckier we'll get."
The Murray's Mountain Dew Citrus Nationals will feature
NHRA national competition in classes such as Top Alcohol
Dragsters, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street. Also
in attendance will be Pro Mods (including Scotty Cannon
Jr.), Super Pro, Pro, Pro Bike and the Autocraft Outlaw
Quick 16. The show also has a full lineup of jet exhibition
vehicles such as the Original Jet Truck, two jet Funny
Cars, two jet dragsters, and two wheelstanders. (Jeff
