EASTER BUNNY NATS AT BREMERTON
The Handlers' Racing Association/Bremerton (Wash.) Raceway,
will start their 46th year of racing in Kitsap County over
the Easter weekend. Saturday, March 26th, features
their Top Comp program for cars running 8.19 and quicker
and the 8.90 index Canadian West Pro Gas Association.The
Easter Bunny Nationals are on Sunday. Super Pro and Motorcycle
fees are $30.00 per car and driver and will be racing for
a guaranteed $3,500.00 purse. [3-25-2005]
BICKEL RACE CARS IN RUSSIA
Agent 1320 hears from one of the operatives that Jerry
Bickel Race Cars has built either a chassis or a car for
a customer in Russia. Drag racing in Russia? Who knew?

ODDY/BILLES WILL RACE 'VETTE AT START
OF SEASON. 240-MPH PASS POSSIBLE?
Team owner Jim Oddy and car chief Billy Leverentz always
do the finish work on their team cars. They ran into a
few problems finishing up the new Jerry Bickel-built Dodge
Stratus in time for the IHRA season opener at San Antonio,

Equipment-backed team will take the
'53 'Vette that new driver Al Billes campaigned last year
and run it at the IHRA opener and then go on to Houston
for the team's first NHRA event of the year.
When Oddy and long-time driver Fred Hahn ran a similar
'53 'Vette in 2000 they ran laps of 232 and 234 at Rockingham
that year. With Jay Payne's recent 234 and 236 laps, could
the "mineshaft" at Houston yield a 240 pass or
even the first AMS/TLR series five-second pass? [3-25-2005]
CAMARENA GETS ASSOCIATE SPONSOR
Clay Smith Cams has joined Pro Stock Motorcycle rider
Freddie Camarena as an associate sponsor of his 2002 Suzuki
TL 1000.
"I am looking forward to taking their legendary mascot
for the ride of his life. He better chomp down hard on
that cigar,” Camarena joked.
The mascot that Camarena referred to is “Mr. Horsepower,” the
Clay Smith Cams red woodpecker with a cigar in his beak.
Other associate sponsors are Embee Performance, Racegirl,
and LaundryParts.com. The Placentia, CA rider is still
searching for primary sponsorship. Camarena’s next
race will be the O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals at
