DO WE AMUSE YOUSE?

Editor Jeff Burk has been trying to get a cartoonist to submit material for DRO ever since the death of Pete Millar. Kenny Youngblood contributed a few, but soon ran out of the cocktail napkins furnished by Burk on which to draw. It took a while, but we now have a DRO political cartoonist. Dianne Patrizzi will be contributing an occasional comment or illustration. Our hope is that whether you are amused or outraged, at least you will be thinking. And remember, our motto is "Drag racing from a different perspective."

Everybody will be fair game as the season goes on, but here is the first topical offering.

Former NHRA Pro Stock Truck racer Taylor Lastor was at the Huntsville, AL ORSCA race with a turbocharged 2003 Corvette entered in the Outlaw 10.5 class. He plans to hit all six points-paying ORSCA events this season. Lastor said he’s also having a 1968 Pro Mod Camaro built at Skinny Kid Racecars with a big-block turbo between the pipes and plans to make his NHRA Pro Mod debut by the end of this year.
