MORE INFO ON THE OUTLAW NATIONALS
The Agent thought everyone knew about Huntsville Dragway
which is going to host the first 1/8th mile "Outlaw" Nationals
on July 3-4. Evidently everybody but Top Fuel racers do.
Just for the record, it is an all-concrete 1/8th mile with
asphalt shutoff of 2500 paved and
another 2500 of smooth
run-off (no trees!) The race will be an NHRA National Open
where sportsman cars can race and set records. There will
be no "Super" classes at this event.
At this time only the Stock and Super Stock classes are
scheduled, but if enough Comp cars pre-enter track owner
George Howard told the Agent he will add that class. (Don't
call the Agent about this, Mr. Howard decided not to invite
the "Super" classes!)
Howard told the Agent that he has already received Top
Fuel entries from NHRA regulars Scott Palmer, Virgil Hartman
(two cars) and IHRA regular C.J. Nelson. Several other
name Top Fuel teams have called and expressed an interest
in attending.
Here is the complete Top Fuel class payout: $40,000 to
win; $20,000 runner-up; $12,500 semis; $10,000 qualify;
$2500 for eighth and ninth; 5000 for Low ET of the meet
in Top Fuel. (Please note that non-qualifiers get $2500
not $7500 as was typo'd here previously). For more info
and to pre-register call 636-272-6301. [3-11-2005]
ANOTHER '70 CUDA PRO MOD BODY
The Agent got this spy
photo of the newest body from Jeffers Pro Cars near St.
Louis, Mo. This is the body plug that Jeffer's tech Rob
Mathies has been steadily working on for a month. According
to Larry Jeffers it will be at least six to eight weeks
before they will pull one of these bodies off of the
mold. [3-11-2005]
