SoCal’s Dan Horan Jr. plowed through the Nostalgia
Funny Car field at the Goodguys Nitro Nationals held
at Infineon Raceway over the weekend defeating Larry
Pettit in the final. Horan qualified second behind
Pettit’s Mustang, but Dan’s opening round
6.056 232.83 victory over Mike Savage netted the quickest

THE AGENT SCREWED UP
Agent 1320 reported a while back that former AHRA/IHRA
Pro Stock racer Jerry Yeoman was having a new Pro Stocker
car built at Larry Jeffer's race car shop in Missouri.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. . .Yeoman is having Jeffer's build
him one of his '59 'Vette Pro Mods and will have a nitrousized
big, big, big block Chevy under the bonnet. Sorry for the
screw-up. [4-25-2005]
BURK WAS WRONG. . .SORTA
One of the Agent's sources called to clarify an item in
the current Burk's Blast in which Burk wondered why any
of Detroit's Big Three (with the exception of GM) didn't
display current model cars on the midway. According to
the Agent's source, when NHRA signed GM as

the official
car there was a stipulation in the contract that kept Ford
and Mopar production cars off of the midway. Show cars
using Ford and Mopar aftermarket parts are the sole exception
accord to the operative. Sounds reasonable to the Agent.
Along that same train of thought, word out of Ford is
that they are absolutely selling as many Mustangs as they
are making. The Agent bets they are still taking orders
though. [4-25-2005]
HANS REPS TO BE AT BRISTOL AND ATLANTA
HANS tech Jay Braxton called to tell the Agent that he
will be attending the NHRA national events at Bristol Dragway
and Atlanta Dragway to answer any questions racers may
have about the device and may try to have a seminar at
the track. Jay, the Agent suggests you also attend a few
IHRA national events to service those racers. [4-25-2005]
A FUEL FUNNY OPERATION FOR FREDDIE NEELY?
Agent 1320 hears that Georgia racer "Fast" Freddie
Neely may be getting close to sighing a deal that will
allow him to race at 10-12 NHRA events in 2005. Our spy
tells us that Neeley and drag racing's "Bama Gang" are
even talking to a sponsor that would put the popular veteran
back on the tour full time. [4-25-2005]
TOP FUEL RACER BILL MULLINS COMING BACK
Agent 1320 has learned that Alabama racer and former Top
Fuel racer Bill Mullins is returning to drag racing but
he won't be doing it in a 300-inch Top Fuel car. The Agent
got a report that Mullins has built himself an Outlaw 10.5
Mustang and has been testing it at Huntsville Dragway.
Mullins is on the North side of sixty years old and the
word from the Agent's sources is that he still has the
drag racing need for speed. [4-25-2005]
