PESETSKI JOINS NHRA
John Pesetski has been
hired as NHRA's director of advertising and promotions.
Pesetski has nearly eight years of event marketing experience
and has spent the last three years with the Harlem Globetrotters,
where he was responsible for the marketing and promoting
of games in markets nationwide. At NHRA Pesetski will be
responsible for advertising and promotions for the 23-race
POWERade Drag Racing Series and he will report to Glen Cromwell,
vice president, national event marketing. Prior to his stint
at the Harlem Globetrotters, Pesetski worked for Global
Spectrum at the Colorado Springs (Colo.) World Arena, handling
advertising and sales for entertainment bookings at the
arena which included concerts and various sporting events.
"John has demonstrated the ability to increase ticket
sales and revenue for different companies throughout his
career and we are confident he will bring those same skills
to bear on behalf of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series,"
said Cromwell.
Looks like NHRA management has moved outside the baseball
park to headhunt. . .right onto the basketball court. However,
if perennial Globetrotter losers the New York Nationals
show up at a racetrack, the Agent thinks it may have gone
too far. Team orders, indeed! [5-3-2005]
CRANE OFFERS SPORTSMAN BONUS
The Agent has been informed about Crane Cam's new bonus
for Sportsman racers. They're giving $1,000 cash (or $2,000
in product at Jobber prices) to the first racer in each
division to win Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street and
Super Stock at an L.O.D.R.S. divisional event in 2005 using
Crane's new Polymer-Matrix composite bearing shaft rocker
arms. That adds up to $28,000 in extra cash (over and above
their normal NHRA Major Sponsorship program) for Sportsman
racers. [5-3-2005]
