ADAMS ON THE MEND

Adams is on the mend after suffering a heart attack while
in the garage area of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway over
the Memorial Day weekend. Adams is one of the original
members of the Pomona Valley Timing Association founders
of the Fairplex dragstrip and was in Indy with his son-in-law,
IRL driver Jacques Lazier.Stan will return to work at his
Parker Avenue office as soon as doctors give him the go-ahead. Get
well soon, buddy! [6-3-2005]

The International Hot Boat
Association held their Nitro Nationals in Red Bluff,
CA over the Memorial Day weekend. High winds on
Saturday curtailed the action, but Sunday calmed
down and an estimated 30,000 spectators watched
the wet quarter mile racing.
Glen Wilson, driving
the San Francisco-based "Toxic
Rocket" took his first ever in Top Fuel Hydro
win over points leader Daryl Ehrlich. Ted Faggart
in "Superstar" took a narrow 5.45/218.54
win over Gus Ward's 5.45/214.34 in Top Alcohol
Hydro. Don Bausher in "Habit Forming" (shown)
took the Top Alcohol Flatbottom win over Johnny
Heidemann's Ford-powered "Nightmare." Scott
Loomis continued his perfect season in Pro Mod
with another win over Ryan Baxter's "Bottoms
Up" hydro.
Walt
Ott's outrageous twin screw top Fuel Hydro
won the Show & Shine competition. The Agent
agrees -- this is one cool-looking boat.
