THE CREASY SHUFFLE
The Agent got a call from one of his operatives that nitro
veteran John Lawson will drive the Creasy Family Firebird
at CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at Joliet, IL June
9-12. [6-3-2005]
3 FOR WORSHAM
The Agent hears that there will be a third Worsham & Fink
funny car for a few select NHRA events through the end
of the season, including the 51st U.S. Nationals. The pilot
of the third flopper is familiar with driving for the Worsham
camp and was runner-up at the 2003 Pomona Finals. We understand
that the third car will carry some sponsorship from one
of the old line, pioneer racing wheel companies. [6-3-2005]
NO FUEL COUPE FOR MS. FORCE IN THE
NEAR FUTURE
The media frenzy over Ashley Force making a squirt in
one of her dad's fuel coupes appears to be a little premature
at best. According to the Agent's source in the Force
camp,

Ashley has an iron clad contract with Mattel to drive
the A/FD through the completion of the 2006 season.
The source went on to say that the plan is for Ashley
to make a few Monday laps this season when it's convenient
for the team and perhaps get her license upgraded. Then
in 2006 she will do what Robert Hight did last year and
make laps every Monday to get ready for a 2007 debut in
a forth Force Funny Car with sponsorship from Castrol.
One thing the Agent was told is very interesting. The
main reason that Ashley is learning to drive a Fuel Coupe
is that should something happen to John Force, in order
for the current sponsorship contracts to remain in force,
a Force would have to replace him and that Force would
be Ashley. [6-3-2005]
Texas Outlaw
Pro Mod racer Frankie Taylor crashed his '63 Vette
earlier this year everyone knows that. What you might
not know is that a couple of prominent Pro Mod team
owners sent checks to Larry Jeffers of Jeffers Pro
Cars to cover part of the expense of building "Madman" Taylor
a complete new car. Jeffers absorbed the rest of
the cost and yesterday Taylor and crew took delivery
of his brand new Jeffers Pro Cars '59 'Vette complete
with a trick paint job. A tip of the Agent's cap
to Larry Jeffers, his hard working crew and the two
team owners (you know who you are) for donating their
time and money to help out a fellow racers. Here
are a couple of photos of the new car just out of
Jeffers St' Louis area shop. [6-3-2005] |
