TORCO GEAR TO SPONSOR ADRL EVENT 

Torco will become the primary sponsor of the ADRL's upcoming event in Belle Rose, LA. The third of the six events on the 2005 American Drag Racing League schedule, will officially be known as the inaugural Torco Gear Summer Drags presented by Ambrose Printing. The event will be contested Friday and Saturday, July 8 and 9, at No Problem Raceway. The event will showcase Outlaw Pro Mod competition in the Pro Extreme and Pro Nitrous categories, and will also feature drivers from the AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge presented by TLR series. The Summer Drags will count as a points-scoring event for the Pro Mod Challenge drivers, the first of two times this summer that the ADRL and AMS/TLR series will be contested at the same event. GETTING FUNNY AT 'NIGHT UNDER FIRE'

You will be forgiven if you think you're with the wrong sanctioning body at Norwalk (Ohio) Raceway Park's "Night Under Fire" on July 2. Several NHRA Funny Car stars will attend the event at the home track of IHRA, including John Force, Robert Hight, Eric Medlen, Gary Scelzi, Tim Wilkerson, Del Worsham, Phil Burkhart and Tony Pedregon.

In addition, there will be four jet dragsters, Bob Motz's jet Kenworth, two wheelstanders, supercharged nostalgia cars and a huge fireworks display. Whew.  [6-17-2005]
