RUTH RESTO RACER
The Agent received some photos of the finished restoration
of legendary Northwestern racer Jerry "the King"
Ruth's last front engine dragster. The project was undertaken
by alky funny car standout Bucky Austin and uses a blown,
period-correct 392 Chrysler for power. Look for Austin's
beautiful handwork at a hot rod reunion cacklefest near
you. (Photos courtesy Bucky Austin

JEG'S REWARDS EMPLOYEES AT SPORTSNATIONALS
Long-time
Jeg’s employee Roger Burket will serve as Grand Marshal
at the JEG’S NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals and radio
personality Mark "Daddy Wags" Wagner has been
chosen as the Honorary Starter for the event, August 28-31
at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.
Burket’s 37-year tenure at Jeg’s High Performance
is second only to company founder Jeg Coughlin Sr. In his
time at Jeg’s Burket has done everything from building
race cars and parts sold in the Jeg’s catalog to running
Jegster Inc., a subsidiary of Jeg’s Automotive.
In Jeg Sr’s own
words, "Roger can do anything. He has built race cars,
security gates, executive desks, Jr. Dragsters and parts
sold in the Jeg’s catalog to name only a few of his
creations. Roger’s loyalty and work ethic is something
to admire."
Lisa Gain, a Customer Service Representative for Jeg’s,
will sing the National Anthem for the event. She has written
190 songs, 12 of which she has selected on her own CD.
Hey, the Agent says, giving employees perks sure beats
having to give them a raise. He knows because he just got
a key to the company beer cooler. (photo
