JEG'S GIVES SCOTTY A 'VETTE
Scotty Richardson became eligible for the Jeg's Crown after
winning the Super Gas title at the Jegs.com NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals
in Belle Rose, La., last April. However, the Chevy Cavalier
he drove to victory in Belle Rose was recently sold, leaving
him without a
ride
for the upcoming Columbus event. Enter Jeg's Mail Order
owners Troy, John, Mike
and Jeg Coughlin, graciously offered
to let Richardson race the family's '63 Corvette roadster
during the inaugural event. Nice.

WE GO THE EXTRA MILE AT DRO
The Agent got a call from a fan saying that there was a
sign up in the parking lot at Atlanta Dragway saying the
track had been sold to one of the home improvement chains.
We take nothing for granted here at DRO so we sent our Senior
Editor Ian Tocher on a 70-mile drive to check out the rumor.
There wasn't a sign but he did see and photograph these
'copters landing in the parking lot. Tocher thought he saw
"Hooters Air" markings on the backside of the
choppers. Could this have been part of a forcible takeover
of the NHRA facility? News at eleven! (Ian
