Busy Scott Kalitta Top Fuel sponsor Jesse James of West Coast Choppers and Monster Garage fame has been beating up on the local SoCal Figure 8 circuit.

Jesse's high-dollar machine with a powerful Petty Enterprises Nextel Cup engine is quicker and faster than the competition and his ability to avoid oncoming racers in the intersection has won him a 1st place and a runner-up on Irwindale Raceway's popular Saturday night feature. FLOPPERS TEST AT FAMOSO

Over the weekend, Famoso Raceway provided some test and tune time for some west coast Nostalgia Funny Cars.  Ron Capps made two passes in Jeff Gaynor's 'Cuda, getting used to the new car by making big smoky burn outs, but spun the tires at the hit of the throttle.  Capps said of his experience, "That was fun, but everything is in a different place in the cockpit. I'm glad I got a chance to drive the car before getting in it at Pomona."
