THIS TIME FOR SURE, ROCKY

There the old Agent was, in his easy chair with a glass of cold lemonade ready to watch the Rocket City Nationals on "Inside Drag Racing" last Sunday. But what happened? They were postponed a week to Sunday, August 21. Aw shucks. The Agent will try again and hopes you do too. [8-16-2005]

STAWICKI DEBUTS NEW PRO MOD

Veteran Pro Mod racer Mike Stawicki from Medina, NY, will debut his all new Stealth '67 Pro Modified Camaro built by G-Force Race Cars Inc. at the PMRA event in Lancaster, NY on Aug. 19.

"I'm really proud of my entire team," said Stawicki. "Especially Jim Salemi (owner) and Dave Smith (shop foreman) from G-Force Race Cars, and Ted Arts from Isolation Systems for all their relentless time and effort to make this a reality for me."

The new car is the first body from the Cynergy Composites molds that were purchased from Aussie Murray Anderson. Crew chief Jim Salemi calls this "an awesome body, one of the best that I have ever had to work with."

SCHOOL ISN'T OUT QUITE YET!

From all indications 61-year-old Warren Johnson has joined the ranks of other premier drivers like Don Garlits, A.J. Foyt and Kenny Bernstein who've announced their retirement and then changed his mind. Sources tell the Agent that WJ is still planning to retire but just not at the end of the 2005 season as he announced earlier this year. Supposedly we'll get the straight poop from the Professor at Indy.

The Agent advises that you refrain from buying those WJ "School's Out" tour souvenirs for at least a while, or plan on putting them in the same case with the KB "Forever Red" trash and treasure that will become worthless if Kenny gets the sponsorship he is seeking to put him back in a race car.
