The Agent found out that they're going to have a match race
this Wednesday night at Kansas City International Raceway.

will square off against one of the Lake Ozark, MO Barklage
brothers' supercharged GTO. It should be a classic Midwest
match race. (Bret Kepner photo)

Drag
Racing Online and George Howard evidently didn't learn their
lesson at the Huntsville $101,000-to-win Top Fuel race and
are going to join forces again. This time the pair will
be putting on a race for "Outlaw" Ten-wide doorslammers
that pays the winner 50 large (or for those of you who don't
gamble $50,000!). The race will be held in April of 2006
but that is all the information that George has given DRO
so far.
Stay tuned for more information on what promises to be
the highest paying ten-wide race in drag racing history.
What else would you expect from George and DRO?

GOT MILK?
After
totaling a couple of race cars and suffering through other
dramas, Jim Oddy returned to competition with his interim
driver, Steve Bareman, at the IHRA event at Martin, MI.
Bareman, who owns one of the largest dairies in the Midwest,
has been an engine customer of Jim Oddy's for many years
and graciously offered the Summit Racing Equipment-sponsored
team his '53 'Vette to finish out the 2005 season. After
a two-week thrash to install Oddy's engine and drivetrain
into the Bareman 'Vette, the team attempted to qualify at
the Martin event but only ran good enough for 17th. They
did get a break and came in on Sunday as an alternate but
burned some pistons in a losing effort in the first round.
According
to Oddy the car had a problem somewhere in the fuel tank
or fuel lines which caused the engine to go lean and burn
pistons and rods on every pass. "We looked like a Top
Fuel team putting a rack of rods and pistons in the engine
after every lap!" said Oddy.
The Agent hears the team will be ready for Norwalk but
will skip the AMS/TLR event at the U.S. Nationals and return
at the IHRA event in Epping, NH on Sept. 9-11. (Bob
