PEDREGON TEAM

|
As
the Agent predicted on Aug. 19, Wes Cerny has left Cruz
Pedregon Racing. Ron Douglas has been promoted to crew chief
and Sam Shockely has been promoted assistant crew chief
of the Advance Auto Parts Nitro Funny Car.
Douglas joined Pedregon Racing at the beginning of this
season as an assistant crew chief. Prior to that, Douglas
was a crew chief with Doug Herbert's Top Fuel organization
and has worked under tuners like Lance Larsen, Dick LaHaie
and Larry Frazier. Douglas began his career with Dean Skuza
in 1994.
Shockely also joined Pedregon Racing at the beginning of
the 2005 season, after serving as assistant crew chief with
Doug Herbert's Top Fuel operation, where he started in 1999.
Shockely began his career with Jerry Turner Racing's alcohol
dragster organization, who fielded a car for Pedregon at
that time as well. [8-23-2005]
KLOEBER
ADVISING ON GILBERTSON'S FLOPPER
Agent 1320's operative in the funny car ranks called to
say that the Bob Gilbertson operation has added veteran
tuner Mike Kloeber (shown) in an advisory position to help
that team improve their qualifying efforts and race day
set-up. Kloeber will continue to run the Kenny Koretsky
Top Fuel operation. (Jeff Burk photo)

HOWARD GIVING AWAY THE HOUSE AT THE 'MILLION'
Philanthropist and race promoter George Howard is giving
away a huge number of prizes to the racers that participate
at the 2005 Million Dollar Bracket Race September 22-25
at Memphis Motorsports Park. Everyone entered will get a
chance to win a new Mustang, a Race Tech four-link dragster
complete from pan to scoop and nose to chutes, a 28-ft enclosed
trailer and, if there are 300 or more paid entries, a $150,000

buying an entry just to qualify for the drawings for the
