A
tip of the Agent's cap to Outlaw 10.5 star Mike Hill, who
ran the table Aug. 13-14, at Alabama International Dragway,
where he set a new eighth-mile track record of 4.591 seconds
in qualifying, then advanced to beat Steve Kirk 4.73 to
4.74 in the final round. Hill backed up that performance
a week later by going 4.6121 at 156.27 mph to again qualify
number one at Phenix City (AL) Motorsports Park before rain
postponed the event to a date yet to be announced.

ORSCA ON TV
The Agent has been told to watch for the debut of commercials
promoting the Outlaw Racing Street Car Association (ORSCA)
today (Aug. 23) at 8 p.m. (ET) on The Learning Channel's
"Rides" show. Also, YearOne, ORSCA's Outlaw 10.5
class sponsor, apparently likes what it sees and plans to
step up its commitment next season with a possible TV show
in the works for the Spike channel. Stay tuned! [8-23-2005]
BRAY,
STOTT TO RACE AT U.S. NATIONALS
Australian Pro Mod legend Victor Bray's son Benny and Mitch
"First in the Fives" Stott are late entries into
the Pro Mod field at the upcoming U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis
Raceway Park held over the Labor Day Weekend. Bray will
drive the 'Vette that the Dave Wood's team built for Outlaw
races. The car has been changed over to meet the AMS rules
for Pro Mod.
Mitch Stott (shown), who has been inactive this year while
working for the Tommy Lipar team, will be driving a new
Tim McAmis-built car for the Tom Lipar organization.
The Agent made a call just to check and see if any driver
or teams who were eligible for the U.S. Nationals AMS/TLR
event were bumped from the program and the answer was no.
The NHRA just added two more spots to accommodate the teams
and drivers.(Ian Tocher photo)
