FIRST LOOK! KORETSKY'S NEW STRATUS; PAWUK AND YATES' GTO'S

Ken Koretsky's ultra-trick, brand new Jerry Bickel-built Dodge Stratus sporting a new paint scheme and a new more aerodynamic body made a few pre-U.S. Nationals passes at St. Louis Tuesday night. The new car features a complete new version of the old Stratus body with the new body being a lot more slab-sided and with many more aero tricks. This new body is Mopar's reply to the new GM GTO. Koretsky's Dodge ran in the 6.79-6.81 range in testing.

Mark Pawuk's new Jerry Bickel Race Cars GTO also made its first passes at St. Louis in preparation for Pawuk's return to the NHRA Pro Stock wars at the U.S. Nationals. As you can see from theis shot, the GTO appears to have a much narrower front end and like Mopar's new Stratus body. Pawuk's GTO also sporting new paint ran laps in the 6.80 range which was as quick as any of the other Pro Stock cars testing that night.

Take a look at the rear window of Jim Yates' new Jerry Haas built GTO. It appears that the GTO has a rear window that looks pretty much like the front. From the side the angles for the windows appear to be the same front and rear, and it almost looks like a hatchback design from the old GM Vega!
