The
field has been set for the eight-car Flowmaster Pro Mod
Clash bonus event in Las Vegas. Clash points leader Joshua
Hernandez ran a 6.08 Sept. 4 at the U.S. Nationals to
finish on top of the AMS/TLR qualifying order for the
third time this season. Hernandez finished in front of

DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION
The Agent got a note from Jack Redd about
our World Series coverage, which stated that Cordova might
be the oldest purpose-built track still in operation.
According to Jack, the oldest (still) operating drag strip
in the U.S. is Old Dominion Drag Strip in Mannasas, VA
that opened in 1953. [9-06-2005]
ORSCA OFFERS HURRICANE
HELP
Prior
to the final round of qualifying for the recently completed
Outlaw Racing Street Car Association (ORSCA) points race
at Atlanta Dragway, Outlaw 10.5 stars Mike Hill (shown)
and defending series champion Jack Barfield canvassed
the crowd for donations to Hurricane Katrina relief funds.
Racers and fans contributed approximately $1,200 to be
forwarded by series chaplain Jim Daughtry to the American
Red Cross.
The Agent applauds their efforts as well
as all the other tracks and racing organizations that
have contributed to the relief effort. The Agent has sent
in his donation to the Red Cross. Have you? Use the link
at the top of the page. (Ian Tocher

BRISBANE 5, OTHER
CITIES?
The Agent also got a note from Rob in Australia to say
that five Aussies have made the cut in the Pro ranks:
Grubnic, Harker, Burnett, Critchley and Bray. Rob adds,
"Not a bad effort in itself but they all hail from
Brisbane or its environs [pop 1.2 million]. How many U.S.
cities can claim that many stars?"
