WHAT'S OLD IS NEW
AGAIN AND AGAIN!
The Agent's Texas buddies at Unique Performance (who build
the "Eleanor" Mustangs) are at it again, this
time joining with Chip Foose, and the Year One folks to
create a new old 1969 Camaro. Designed by Foose and hand-built
by Unique Performance, the car features a 572 c.i. rat
motor and high performance drive train and suspension.
See it on the Rides TV program. Check your local listings.

Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series debuts last weekend under
the watchful eye of Nitro Funny Car Rookie Robert Hight.

competed in Super Comp with Brittany (left) grabbing two
round wins before losing to Tom Bayer in round three.
Courtney (right) hurt her car's engine in
her final time trial on Saturday and was not able to make
first round. (Bryan Ellis photos)

NOSTALGIA NEWS
The Agent hears that the Foothill Flyer NTF Dragster team
has had a film crew with them for several test sessions
as well as the recently completed race in Boise, ID.
The
film crew wanted to get a true behind the scenes view
of racing and was directed to the Nostalgia scene and
the Foothill Flyer team. The goal is a 1 1/2 to 2 hour
documentary-type release. The producers have been in discussions
with a couple of cable networks.
The filming has been done at the Flyer Shop,
Sacramento Raceway, Boise ID and plans include the Hot
Rod Reunion. The filming has focused on the team gelling
with new driver Jerry Kumre Jr as he steps up in class
to Top Fuel. Crew chief Pete Jensen and pretty much everyone
on the team has been on camera and interviewed as well
as the Blanchard-Sorokin and the Cox-Rodeck teams.
The Agent wonders if the formerly attractive
movie star, Dale Funk, who starred in a drag racing movie
of his own knows about this.
More Nostalgia News: One of the Agent's
operatives called to say that she heard that Donnie Couch,
Billy Bones, Pat Galvin and crew are going to build a
nostalgia Funny Car. . .maybe with "Lil" John
Lombardo! No info as to body style, powerplant or driver.

HERE
COME DA JUDGE, HERE COME DA JUDGE!
Two-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Tony Schumacher
will be among the celebrity judges at the 11th annual
World Power Wheelstanding Championships on Oct. 9 at Byron
Dragway in Byron, IL. Ron Leek, track president, said
Schumacher would be one of about five judges for the event
and will be available for autographs and photos (and maybe
a pick-up baseball game?). (DRO
