GENE MOONEYHAM SUCCUMBS
Drag racer and supercharger manufacturer Gene Mooneyham,
75, succumbed to pneumonia on Jan. 17, 2006. The number
554 Mooneyham & Sharp '34 Ford coupe was one of early
drag racing's most well-known altereds, and Mooneyham
worked with many racers over the years. In 1974 Mooneyham
opened his California supercharger shop with his wife
Dorothy, who survives. Funeral services will be at 11:00
a.m. Saturday, January 28, at Rose Hills in Whittier,
CA. (photo courtesy www.mooneyham-blowers.com)

SHE'S A BEAUT
Here's a studio "sponsor beauty shot" of the
fully assembled Brut Dodge
Charger Funny Car Ron Capps will be piloting later this
season, but you
probably won't see it out in the open until they test
it the day after the Checker Schuck’s Kragen Nationals
at Firebird Raceway -- it is certainly doubtful for Pomona.

Schumacher Racing only has four of the sleek new Charger
bodies on hand, however they found a problem with a part
of the composite delaminating when Capps tested in Vegas
last month. According to a Schumacher source, if February
testing goes as planned expect to see a pair of Chargers
in competition at the Gatornationals. (photo
