REAL SPY FOTO

Seems like everybody has "spy" photos these days but here is a real one. The Agent thought you guys might like a preview of the new Gary Scelzi paint. Pretty cool. [1-18-2006]

THAT'S A MUSTANG

The long awaited 2006 Ford Mustang body is being readied in the John Force Racing shop in Yorba Linda, CA, for testing sessions this weekend in Las Vegas. According to a couple of conversations the Agent has had with Tim Gibson, Force’s aerodynamic specialist, this body has been massaged quite a few times over the past year to move the approved design on paper into NHRA "approved to race" status.

According to a Detroit insider, Ford Motor Company has been very unhappy they were denied a current funny car body during the 2005 season resembling the popular Mustang on the dealer's showroom floor. Hopefully Force, Robert Hight and Eric Medlen will have multiple copies of the sleek new composite for 2006. (photo courtesy John Force Racing) [1-18-2006]

REHER-MORRISON PS BOWING OUT?

It looks like the ride may be over for Reher-Morrison, one of the most storied and successful Pro Stock teams of the last quarter century. Citing "a combination of a lot of things," David Reher rec

ently told DRO "more than likely we're not going to be out there this year." Reher emphasized the decision was not at all based on the horrific accident his driver, Bruce Allen, suffered last October at Dallas (Allen is recuperating well and already back at work as a machinist in the R-M shop), but more so on financial constraints.

"We're not going to be going to the races," Reher said, "but that's going to give us more time to work in the shop on more new products that are going to be good for our customers, the sportsman guys who have always been the backbone of Reher-Morrison." He also said R-M may lease Pro Stock engines this year, though no teams could be confirmed.

Look for an in-depth DRO InnerView with David Reher early next month. [1-18-2006]
