NEW LIMITED STREET ENTRY
While visiting Pro-Line Race Engines last week DRO spotted
this just finished 1990 Mustang destined for Limited Street
action at the hands of Pro-Line's Eric Dillard. The car
features a Steve Petty-built 598 c.i. big-block Ford sprayed
with a three-stage nitrous system. Petty said the car
will travel alongside Tim Lynch's Outlaw 10.5 Mustang
and will run in this configuration throughout this year,
but plans are already in the works to convert it to a
twin-turbo setup for 2007. (Ian

PETTY POWERING CHRISTIAN, HERBERT
Steve Petty, the turbo guru behind Tim Lynch's record-setting
10-wide Mustang, is busy building
engines for Tony Christian's
entrance into the 10.5-inch tire wars. Petty said Christian's
old Pro Street Trans Am is currently getting its front
end converted at Ken Smith
Race Cars and will carry a turbo motor backed up by an
automatic transmission. He expects Christian to make his
ORSCA debut with the car about mid-season. Among the other
projects at Petty's Woodstock, GA-based shop are a just
completed 738 c.i. Pro Mod engine with four stages of
nitrous and a twin-turbo V-10 Dodge Viper motor for Top
Fuel star Doug Herbert. [1-18-2006]
EDDYVILLE SOLD
According to Agent 1320's Iowa sources, Eddyville Dragway,
which was once owned and operated by DRO's own Jok Nicholson
and most recently by former Pro Mod racer and car dealer
to the stars Karl Moyer, reportedly has been sold to ex-Kansas
Top Fuel/Funny Car racer Bob Bench (shown). The track
was promoted by Wes Buck last year, who has since moved
on to promoting a Pro Mod series and start his own drag
racing magazine. The Agent hears that Bench may have a
couple of Pro Mod races at the eighth-mile facility this
year, but nothing is official yet. (Jeff
