Testing was going well for Scott
Kalitta in his new Funny Car until Monday. It had been
breezy all day in Las Vegas and those strong Santa Ana
winds reportedly had something to do with this brush with
the wall. Damage was mostly cosmetic.

TEE OFF FOR DRAW
The Drag Racing Association of Women Sportsman Racer Appreciation
Golf Tournament will be held in Florida during the Gatornationals
on March 15, 2006. The organization is looking for businesses
to sponsor various awards. Companies interested in sponsorships

CORDOVA IS ALPHA AND OMEGA OF
HOT ROD TOUR

Cordova Dragway Park will host the beginning and the
conclusion of the Hot Rod Magazine Street Car Tour this
fall. The Hot Rod "Drag Week" will begin on
Sept. 11 and, after a 1500-mile, five-track tour, will
conclude on Sept. 15.
No trailered, towed or hauled vehicles will be allowed
on the five-day tour. Racers must carry everything they
will need in their car or in a trailer towed by their
car.
The winner of each of five classes of competition will
be the car that sets the lowest average ET over the five
tracks. Nearly 100 cars are expected to compete. For more

NHRA TEST SESSION AT LAS VEGAS: PART
II
The first test session at The Strip at Las Vegas is over
and the teams will now pour over computer data to find
out what went right and what went wrong. Many teams will
move on to Phoenix for testing this week. The last test
session will be held at Las Vegas Feb. 2-5 before the
NHRA season starts Feb. 9-12 at Pomona.tor Speedway The
Pontiac Pro Stock Showdown will be held at The Strip on
Feb. 4.
