BUDWEISER EXTENDS BERNSTEIN PARTNERSHIP

Budweiser has just extended its contract with Kenny and Brandon Bernstein through 2009, making it the longest consecutive major team sponsorship in motorsports history. The sponsorship began in 1980 when Kenny was driving a Funny Car.

"Our 30-year tenure with Budweiser says a lot for the sport of drag racing," said Kenny Bernstein, "and we are grateful for the contributions they have made to our sport." The Anheuser-Busch brand also established the Budweiser Shootout in 1982 and has been the "Official Beer of the NHRA" for more than 20 years. (Ron Lewis photo) [1-25-2006]

Keystone Automotive Operations has signed on as an associate marketing partner for Don Schumacher Racing. Keystone Automotive will have their major presence on Tony Schumacher's U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster, with smaller signage on the other eight vehicles in the Schumacher stable.

"I find it interesting that Keystone Automotive is coming on board in a season when I can possibly tie Joe Amato for the most consecutive Top Fuel world titles," said Tony Schumacher. "Of course, Joe and Keystone have a long and storied history together." Interesting, indeed. [1-25-2006]
