AWESOME PERFORMANCE AT BRADENTON
Awesome Motorsports is now three for three in big money
Pro Street races after Mike Castellana picked up the win
Jan. 29, at Bradenton Motorsports Park, driving the same
nitrous-boosted 1968 Camaro that teammate Shannon Jenkins
steered to victory at Orlando and Las Vegas last fall.
Castellana, who qualified fifth, prevailed in the final
round over number-eight qualifier Annette Summer and her
twin-turboed '63 Corvette.
Also winning at Bradenton's U.S. Street Nationals were
Tim Lynch in Outlaw 10.5, Robert Remek in Heavy Street,
and Shannon Wren in Drag Radial--all of whom qualified
in the number-two position in their respective classes.
Unfortunately, the event was marred by a serious top-end
crash by Plantation, FL's Wade Gullet, who barrel rolled
his Pro Street Oldsmobile during qualifying on Friday.
Gullet was transported by helicopter to a local hospital,
but apparently suffered only minor injuries. (DRO
