EDDYVILLE TRACK UNSOLD!
The Agent reported a couple of weeks back that
Kansas nitro racer Bob Bench had agreed in principle to
purchase the 1/8th mile track in Eddyville, IA, currently
owned by former Pro Mod racer Carl Moyer. Supposedly Bench
was going to pay around $750,000.
Several sources have contacted the Agent to say that
when it came time to sign the paperwork evidently Mr.
Bench changed his mind. We have been unable to talk to
the parties concerned, but evidently this is more than
a rumor. So, we all have to assume the Iowa facility is
back on the market. [2-3-2006]
DAVIS FORMS A SANCTIONING BODY
FOR AUTOMATIC PRO MODS
Professional Top Sportsman racer Ronnie Davis has formed
a new sanctioning body for automatic-powered Pro Mods,
the APMA. It is an “Outlaw” Pro Mod, 1/8th
mile only, run-what-ya brung series for cars using automatic
transmissions only. He does, however, allow racers to
use the Lenco 'glide and similar trannies that use a converter
instead of a clutch.
The schedule is being finalized but the events will be
mostly in the Southeast at tracks such as Carolina Dragway,
Huntsville Dragway and Georgia Motorsports Park. For more
information go to www.automaticpromods.com.
