RICK JONES NAMES NEW DRIVER
Mike Corvo Jr. will be behind the wheel of Rick Jones' Pro Stock Truck for next year. Jones will move to the crew chief position for the R J Race Cars GMC Sonoma team.

"I feel that our team can be more successful if I am the crew chief and can be in a position on the starting line to watch and tune the truck," Jones said.

Corvo, 31, will be bringing his previous sponsor, Motorhomes Unlimited of Elgin, Ill. to the team as a major sponsor. VFN Fiberglass will come aboard as an associate sponsor.

A new engine from Reher-Morrison is in the works and the team is expecting delivery of a new GMR trailer the first of the year.

STREET LEGAL NEWS:
The always positive and personal Anthony Christian told the Agent that he will be back to the NMCA wars next year with a two-car team. At the NMCA banquet the loquacious Bob Rieger, NMCA's 2000 Pro Street Champion, gave the sanctioning body the business from the podium about the fact that the Memphis race just didn't get the attention that it once did. Former NMCA Super Street World Champ Billy Glidden was at the PRI Show signing autographs in the Edelbrock booth. Agent 1320 hears that new NMCA honcho Pete Duhart tried to arrange a meeting between Glidden and Bobby Cross at the PRI Show to see if there was a way to get the Super Street superstar to return to NMCA competition. The Agent hears that Cross was too busy to talk to Billy. Glidden did tell Agent 1320 that right now he has no plans for the 2001 season other than match racing. He has sold the 2000 Mustang that he won the World Ford Challenge in and, if he does race, it will be in the black 'Stang he won with in 1999. Look for EZ Street Champ Gary Rohe to show up at the races next year with a new R J Race Cars' 2000 Mustang. (photo below)
