Here is the first look at the CARQUEST Top Fuel car to
be driven by 2000 IHRA Top Fuel Champ Paul Romine. Romine will start
the season with a pair of cars, one built by Indianapolis car builder
Mike Spitzer and one built by the mayor of Otterbien, Indiana, Murf
McKinney. Romine has moved his entire operation to the Cherryville,
N.C. shops of racing partner Doug Herbert.
HERE'S THE SCOOP!
Pro
Stock car builder Rick Jones has designed a new scoop for his Pro Stock
cars that also could be used by any racer who needs a scoop. According
to Jones, thorough wind tunnel testing indicates this has a much lower
CED (co-efficient of drag) than anything else he has ever tested. RJ
has these RJF1 scoops on the shelf. Check RJ's ad in this issue for
price.
WENEY GETTING NOSTALGIC?
Agent 1320 hears that IHRA Alky Funny Champ Scott Weney found "TV" Tommy
Ivo's last Fuel Coupe body (a '78 Plymouth Arrow). Supposedly Weney
is going to mount the body on a late model chassis with a Hemi.
