GIBSON TO DRIVE THIRD CAR
FOR FORCE AND ADVISE

Rumors that the Force camp will have a third car for the 2000 season turned out to be true, but it will not run any events Agent 1320 has learned. Instead, according to the Agent’s sources, the car will be all white and will run on Mondays after the races. The rumors had everyone from Tommy Johnson Jr to Gary Ormsby Jr driving the fuel coupe but apparently the driver will be Bill Miller’s driver Tim Gibson. Gibson, who will continue to drive for Miller, will also drive the Force camp’s test car as well as consult for the team on various projects.

EDDIE WON’T DRIVE IN 2000;
MAY BE BACK IN 2001 FOR FAREWELL TOUR

Eddie Hill, who was sidelined for the last race of the 1999 season after injuring his back in a bad explosion at Houston Raceway Park, has told Agent 1320 that it is a 95% certainty that he won’t race in 2000 due to a lack of sponsorship.

"I spent some of my own money last year to finish out the season but I won’t do that again," Hill said. "We’ve already sold a lot of our equipment so it would be tough to get going again this year. We’ve talked to some people and we may get the funding to come back in 2001 for a farewell tour."

In the meantime the talented Texan is looking at something to keep him occupied this season, saying "I would like to try my hand at developing a motor program for a Winston Cup team, I know how to make horsepower."

Uh, Eddie, Agent 1320 doesn’t think NASCAR allows hemis, blowers, or nitro.

SPAR TO DRIVE PRO STOCK AND
OTHER PRO STOCK NOTES

One rumor that Agent 1320 keeps hearing is that B&M mogul John Spar may try his hand at NHRA Pro Stock racing this coming season. Evidently the likeable Mike Edwards who found his way the NHRA winners circle last year is having trouble getting work this year.

IHRA TOP FUEL TIDBITS

It isn’t official yet but Agent 1320 has heard from one of his best sources that IHRA’s 1999 Top Fuel Champion Don Lampus may be switching affiliations and taking his act over to the NHRA wars at the request of his sponsor Xpress Auto Parts.

While Lampus may be ankling over to NHRA former, IHRA hitter Doug Foxworth will return to the IHRA nitro wars. Doug "The Lytle Flash" Foxworth has hired Rick Cassel for the entire season and the team has already been testing. Foxworth was second in IHRA Top Fuel points several seasons back.
