MORE PERSONNEL CHANGES AT NHRA
Add popular press room major domo Matt Blaty to the list of people
being re-assigned or leaving at NHRA. It was rumored at the recently
completed NHRA Winternationals that Blaty was unhappy with his role
at NHRA after being passed over for the VP Public Relations & Communications
post in favor of Jerry Archambeault who formerly worked for NHRAs
PR firm of Hill & Knowlton.
IHRA FUEL CHAMP KEEPS STREAK ALIVE IN NHRA
IHRA
Top Fuel champ Don Lampus who now runs with NHRA kept
his string of qualifying for every national event he has entered alive
by qualifying on his third chance at Pomona. It looked like the popular
Pennsylvania native wouldn't make it after experiencing clutch problems
during his first two laps, but the team found the problem and qualified,
only to lose in the first round to eventual winner Gary Scelzi.
