DeANGELIS DOUBLE DIPS AT RICHMOND

Touring drag racing photographer Dave DeAngelis did double duty at Richmond adding to his already considerable fortune by becoming a driver in the lucrative NHRA alky dragster realm. Besides the fortune he made selling photos at the event, his team picked up a cool grand for making it to the second round. Seriously though, a tip of Agent 1320’s hat to photojournalist DeAngelis who showed some real talent as a driver and recorded a career best 5.760 / 234.29.

SO YOU THINK YOU'RE A MECHANIC, HUH?

Recently Agent 1320 got a challenge from Summit’s Jon Hedges. Seems like Summit has added a quiz to their site that tests one’s knowledge as a mechanic. Hedges passed along his score and asked the Agent to take the test to see if he could match it. We won’t give the Agent’s score but we can tell you that he is in remedial training and has been barred from touching any tools or computers. Test your skills at www.summitracing.com

DENSHAM HAS FIRE AFTER RICHMOND NHRA
Fuel flopper racer Gary Densham seems to have more bad luck than any racer should. After a blower explosion in the first round at Richmond damaged his car’s body, he located a new body and went to J. Ed Horton’s chassis shop to install it. According to a report to DRO the team had the car out of the trailer and in the parking lot and while grinding on the body a hot spark somehow got into the fuel tank causing an explosion. Our sources say that the car burned to the ground, destroying the body and chassis. Apparently Densham has located a chassis and body and will be ready for the upcoming Atlanta race.

BERNSTEIN, EARNHARDT JR. MAKE WALL STREET DELIVERY
May 4th will be “Anheuser-Busch Day” at the New York Stock Exchange, with drivers Kenny Bernstein and Dale Earnhardt Jr. taking part in special day-long activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the brewing company’s listing on the exchange.

The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales also will be in attendance. The day’s activities will culminate with the ringing of the closing bell by Anheuser-Busch Cos. Chairman of the Board and President August A. Busch III. We hope Augie will take the guys out for a cold one after a hard day at the office.
