JEG'S TO SPONSOR LUCRATIVE SPORTSMAN ALLSTARS EVENT IN CHICAGO

GLENDORA, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2001) -- Jeg's Automotive, Inc., has reached a multi-year agreement with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) to become the title sponsor of the NHRA Sportsman Allstars event at Route 66 Raceway near Chicago beginning in 2002, NHRA Vice President of Sales and Business Development Bob Wagner announced today.

The 18th annual Jeg's Sportsman Allstars, a race-within-a-race for 64 of the best NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series competitors, will be contested during the second annual NHRA Nationals, Sept. 26-29, at Route 66 Raceway, Joliet, Ill. The event will be televised on ESPN2.

"We're extremely excited to have Jeg's Automotive make the commitment to support our Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series through the very popular Sportsman Allstars event," said Wagner. "For our thousands of sportsman racers, truly the backbone of the NHRA, this is one of the most anticipated events during the season, where individual and team bragging rights are at stake. We look forward to our new association with Jeg's Automotive, ensuring that the Jeg's Sportsman Allstars maintains its status as one of the most thrilling and competitive events for Sportsman racers."

The best racers in the eight NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series categories from each of NHRA's seven geographic regions will compete for team and individual honors and a share of the $100,000 purse in the Jeg's Sportsman Allstars. The winning team will split $20,000 and the winners in the Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car categories will earn $7,000 each, while the winners in Competition Eliminator and Super Stock will earn $6,000 each. Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street winners will earn $4,500. Runners-up in all categories will get $2,000.
