Bernstein will be honored during pre-race festivities at each event in 2002, there will also be Commemorative Mac Tools "Bud King" toolboxes and a special advertising campaign designed to support all the marketing opportunities of KB's retirement to Top Fuel owner for his son Brandon. "In one respect, we're looking forward to the "Forever Red" tour knowing that the future holds a wealth of opportunity for my son, Brandon. On the other hand, as the year progresses, we know that we'll miss driving the Budweiser King, which is the most fun a guy like me could ever dream of." Brandon spent much of the 2001 season behind the wheel of the Darien & Meadows injected Nitro powered Federal-Mogul dragster capturing the Division 7 Championship. In Las Vegas this year, they became the first father/son duo in NHRA history to win at the same national event and doubled up again at the Chicago race.

Kenny Bernstein won four NHRA Winston Championships in his "Bud King" Funny Car with Crew Chief Dale Armstrong and switched to the Top Fuel category in 1990. Bernstein is the only driver to have won the Bud Shootout in both a funny car and a top fuel dragster. He was the first to break the 300 miles-per-hour barrier at Gainsville in 1992 and won his first Top Fuel Championship in 1996 after the death of Blaine Johnson. Bernstein's performance picked up, after 5th, 4th, and 6th place finishes and provided him a strong 2001 Top Fuel Championship after Tim and Kim Richards joined the team in March of 2001. In a race down to the wire, KB clinched this season's Championship at the Pomona Finals against Larry Dixon.

"The 'Forever Red' tour allows us to give something back to the thousands of fans who have supported not only the Budweiser King team but the sport of racing through the years," said Bernstein.
