HAGERTY WILL MAKE PRO MOD HISTORY
Perennial
West Coast Pro Mod racer Randy Hagerty will be making some history
regardless of how his cars run at the U.S. Nationals. That's right
the Agent said cars! Hagerty will have two Pro Mods at Indy. He will
drive one of his two Corvette race cars in the Comp Eliminator division
and the other car will be driven in the NHRA Pro Modified exhibition
race.
While there has already been one driver, Rickie Smith, who qualified
both a Pro Stock car and a Pro Modified at an NHRA event, Hagerty
will be the first to attempt to qualify a Pro Mod both as a sportsman
car and a Pro car an NHRA National Event.
TONY CHRISTIAN UPDATE
Agent
1320 has now learned that the Tim McAmis car he earlier reported that
former Pro Street champion Tony Christian will be driving in NHRA
Pro Mod competition will be none other than Kirk Kuhns' '63 Hemi-powered
'Vette.
Supposedly, Christian got the car with one and a half Brad Anderson
"fathead" hemis. Tony Christian will be a bad man in that 6.20 car.
The Agents question is will Christian's long-time engine suppler Reher-Morrison
be involved with the care and feeding of his hemi motors?
