NMRA PRO STREET UPDATE

Agent 1320 got a note from the folks at NMRA regarding their Pro Street program for next season and the trial balloon they floated at ATCO recently. At the ATCO NMRA race they invited four cars: NSCA Pro Street champ Pat Musi, NMCA OS Champion Marc Dantoni, Tony Gentile and Brian Gould. The reason they ran the four exhibition cars was to promote ProMedia's 2002 five race PRO Fastest Street Car Shootout Series. Prototype rules are due to be released in a few weeks.

RIEGER MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW

Defending NMCA Outlaw Street champ Bob Rieger won his third straight World Championship at the last NMCA race of the season. Rieger went into the race needing to do three things in order to win his third title and beat arch rival Tony Christian: He had to set a world record (he did), he had to beat Christian before the final round (he did), and he had to win the race (he did that too).

Next year these two road warriors will meet each other again as both men are going Pro Mod racing with supercharged cars. It should be great racing theater when these two hook up in Pro Modified.

SEMA SHOW WILL BE HELD AS SCHEDULED

We received this email dated September 21, 2001:

This important letter is to tell you that the 2001 SEMA Show*ITE and AAPEX will be held as scheduled from Tuesday, Oct. 30, to Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are rumors and incorrect information circulating about the shows' cancellation. These, including the message that ran on the bottom of the screen on CNN-TV on Thursday, September 20, are NOT TRUE. We intend to conduct business in Las Vegas as planned, and we will deliver an outstanding show for both exhibitors and attendees. Your attendance at our aftermarket shows in Las Vegas will do much to regain momentum of our industry's business. To that end, we have extended our early registration discount through Friday, October 5. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact:
SEMA Show*ITE, ConvExx, 858-244-1313
AAPEX, W.T. Glasgow & Company, 708-226-1300

We are determined to honor the memories of the September 11 victims. With that in mind, it is vital that our industry move forward. Thank you for your support of our industry, and your faith in America's future.

Sincerely,
Chuck Schwartz, CEM
Bill Glasgow, Sr.
