The NHRA AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge exhibitions will be aired
as a stand alone show on ESPN2 on a tape-delayed basis and produced
by Masters Entertainment Group. The invitation-only exhibitions will
feature eight-car fields set during two qualifying sessions (Friday
and Saturday). Sunday final eliminations will feature three rounds to
determine a winner.
A special NHRA AMS Pro Mod Challenge Shootout will take place at the
O'Reilly Fall Nationals with an additional $10,000 in prize money available
to participants, selected by AMS Staff Leasing and subject to NHRA's
approval, based on a to-be-determined AMS points system to be announced
at a later date.
Nowling Motorsports Management again has been signed by AMS Staff Leasing
to administrate and manage the Pro Modified series. NMM will also produce
10 pre-event concert parties for Tarpit Records in conjunction with
the Pro Mod events.
"We had two concert/parties last season," said NMM principal Kenny
Nowling, "and this year we're going to add eight more, thanks to Tarpit
Records. These concerts will benefit not only Tarpit Records and their
bands, but also the Pro Mod racers and, most importantly, our fans."

HARLEYS SACRIFICE TO RUN NHRA
According to the Agent's sources, the NHRA Screamin' Eagle exhibition
series will pay the Harley competitors much less than IHRA paid last
year. Evidently both the Pro Modified and Top Fuel Harley racers are
trading money for the exposure that NHRA will offer them. The Agent
didn't know you could pay the bills with "exposure." The Agent also
hears that IHRA is still trying to decide about keeping the T/F Harleys
as an IHRA Eliminator for the 2003 season. [12-10-2002]
