CLAPTON MEETS GARLITS

This just goes to show you what happens when car people get involved
in a simple project. The project was to decorate a guitar for the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Yoko Ono, Peter Max, Drew
Carrey and others sent painted guitars. Regular guitars. But not these
guys.
The "Guitar Car" was built by Brian Dumont of Mr. Gasket, Autocrafters,
and Mark Taylor from the Arras Group. They hacked a hole in the guitar
and dropped in a small block Chevy and then built a tube frame.

The car features American Racing wheels, Yokohama Tires and Mr. Gasket
pulleys, valve covers, oil pan, air scoop, etc. Special features are
ACCEL spark plug wire for strings and Hurst T-Handles as the string
adjusters. The engine is equipped with a Lakewood bellhousing at the
back, for protection from those high-decibel launches.
All the guitars will be auctioned off at the end of the summer and
proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, so start saving your
nickels and dimes now for a worthy cause and a great piece of art.
This project sure strikes the right chord with the Agent. [6-20-2002]
