VENEY AND
VENEY TEAM UP FOR 2004
Agent 1320 has learned that one of his favorite
driver's, Todd Veney, and his father, Ken, have
put together an alky Funny Car program for the
2004 season. According to our sources it won't
be full time but more of a part-time deal where
the pair would run a car when they felt like
it at races they wanted to be at.
With Todd driving and his father tuning, these
guys could be a real nightmare for the touring
"pros" of the alcohol Funny Car world joining
Pat Austin and his dad Walt who supposedly going
to do the same kind of deal. (Todd

One
of the Agent's operatives called him late on
Friday to point out that when Rickie Smith ran
his incredible 6.15 lap at the IHRA Rockingham
season ender a couple of weeks back, Mike Castellana
ran a 6.17 beside him, making it the quickest
side-by-side Pro Mod passes in history and the
quickest nitrous Pro Mod side-by-side ever.
The Agent spoke with Smith who said that after
the first pass at Rockingham he took his 738
cubic inch engine out because it didn't feel
right and put his Charlie Buck-built 706-incher
back in! Whew, just think how fast Rickie might
when he gets the big motor right. [10-28-2003]
