"I am beginning to feel comfortable with the
car and the power and how it all integrates,"
Brinsfield said. "I can't tell you how excited
I am for the upcoming season. We are aggressively
seeking a sponsor, but it looks like we may
start the season as an independent team. We're
going to get aggressive when we have to and
remain conservative when we don't have to. We
have a lofty set of goals to achieve this season
and we are planning to give it our all en route
to achieving them."
Brinsfield recorded his personal best elapsed
time, and produced incrementals of .970 (60-foot),
2.670 (330-foot) and a 4.020, 182-mph (eighth-mile).
Prior to this season his quickest e. t. was
in the 6.30s. (Steve Gruenwald photo) (1-22-2003)
