BUFFALO BAD BOYS PRO MOD
REPORTS
The Buffalo, New York area is a hotbed of
Pro Modified competition. Driver/engine builder
Mike Stawicki and Team Snapcase will be making
the trip to Gainesville, FL for the NHRA Gatornationals
and the first race of the NHRA Pro Mod exhibition
series. The team has spent the winter flogging
the new five-inch bore center, Pro Stock-based
engine combo and found a lot of hp. Look for
the former NHRA Comp Eliminator hitter to
make some noise at Gainesville.
In other Buffalo Pro Mod related news, Jim
Oddy and Fred Hahn tested their new Hemi powerplant
in Houston with reported excellent eighth
mile e.t.'s as they prepared for the IHRA
season opener at San Antonio.
Former IHRA World Champ Mike Janis, whose
supercharged wedge has powered him to some
of the quickest e.t.'s in the history of Pro
Mod, reportedly is also looking at a Hemi
combo. He, too, will be at the Texas race
but won't make the trip to Florida. [2-24-2003]
TOTALLY NEW CARS GIVING
MORGAN AND WILSON THE BLUES
Larry Morgan told the Agent that his and
teammate Gene Wilson's new Dodge Stratus race
cars were so completely different than their
old Neons that they were still trying to get
a handle on the chassis. He also thought that
his motors might be down on power and that
Greg Stansfield was going to bring his motors
to Morgan's Ohio shop in a effort to help
the factory team find some power. The team
stayed over in Phoenix for testing after the
NHRA event. [2-24-2003]

Powerfest with a 215 mph run. He posted the

way to winning the title for the Pro Outlaw

FL's Richard Sweeney got the win when Oakland
Park's Russ Jung red-lighted. Jeff Shawver
