Fulk, the Ararat, Va., veteran who won the $10,000 series bonus as the Top Eliminator (Super Pro) Champion, and Tatum, the Salem, Va., standout who claimed the $5,000 top prize in the Sportsman (Footbrake) class, will be among more than 500 bracket racers expected to compete this season in races at Rockingham and three other Carolina racetracks - Farmington Dragway, Mooresville Dragway and Piedmont Dragway

The 2003 series has been expanded from eight to nine events. Following the Rockingham opener, the series will move to Piedmont April 12-13, to Farmington May 17-18 and to Mooresville June 14-15. The second half of the season includes events at Piedmont (July 5-6), Farmington (July 19-20), Mooresville (Aug. 16-17) and Rockingham (Sept. 20-21) followed by the new North Carolina State Championship event (Oct. 11-12), also at The Rock.

"We're excited about the series and especially about the new North Carolina State Championship event," said Rockingham Dragway president Steve Earwood. "In addition to the regular racing program, we'll run three 'shootouts' where the winner gets a new Race Tech dragster chassis." [3-7-2003]

STUDY THIS

How about working on a racecar for your final exam? The Armogedon Racing team in Virginia Beach, VA has a crew consisting of experienced racers and Virginia Beach Vo-Tec students. The student program is designed to encompass textbook work as well as the practical application of many concepts taught in school. Sorry kids, it takes math, science, physics, computer tech and good communication skills to run a racecar team.

A tip of the Agent's hat to Kelly Florio and racers/advisers Pat Musi and Marc Dantoni for their involvement in this project. [3-7-2003]
