Agent's
source, veteran Hemi engine builder/tuner Steve
Boggs who currently is tuning the AFD of New York
racer Tony Bartone and is known as a tuner of
very fast blown Alky Hemi engines, will be building
a couple of engines for Jenkins.
Also, Rickie Smith is rumored to be talking
to former Comp Eliminator racer Bob Phelps,
who in the past has had some very fast blown
gas '63 'Vettes, about a possible deal. In the
meantime, Smith says he will leave the NHRA
Pro Mod scene and concentrate on running quick-eight
races in the Carolina's with the Charlie Buck-built
nitrous engines that he currently has plugged
into his new Jerry Haas 'Vette. The nitrous
ranks are thinning quickly. [4-15-2003]
