Nationals.
Rocca, who had a rough DNQ weekend at NHRA's
Route 66 facility just outside Chicago, and
Ashley, who also was less than happy with his
team's performance, both told the Agent that
they were going to the IHRA track to try and
get their cars ready for the hot weather that
could dominate the second half of the Pro Modified
season.
Ashley was especially looking forward to the hotter more humid weather that VMP should have.
"My crew chief, Chuck Ford, spent the entire
winter developing a hot weather tune-up for
my car, and all we've had this year is temps
in the 60's at every race. I really need to
run my car in hot weather," Ashley said. (Jeff

WE KNOW WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
As if the Agent needed any additional proof that DRO's tech experts know their subjects, how about this info. Mike Stewart (Tranny Tech) won the LACR National Open in his dragster. He qualified number one at 6.59/209.67 and turned in consistent runs of 6.612, 6.610, and 6.591 to get the win. Mike is making the tow from Lancaster, Calif. to Cordova, Ill. for the DRO Quick Eight, August 22-23. Can this California racer take the heat and humidity of a Midwest summer?
Also, Tim McAmis (Check Out That Chassis) is the current e.t. record holder
for NHRA's AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mods at 6.084.
