PRO MOD NOTES
Evidently the Stan Ray-owned CARQUEST-backed
Pro Mod team is going to drastically cut back
on their schedule for the 2004 season. Disappointment
in the progress of the class in NHRA seems to
be one of the main reasons. The team will probably
run a limited schedule of NHRA and IHRA events
for the coming season.
The Agent has learned that Harold Martin, IHRA
nitrous Pro Mod racer and one of the few active
African-American racers in Pro Mod this year,
has been extended an invitation to the NHRA
event at Las Vegas which is sponsored by his
sponsor ACDelco. The Agent hears that there
may be a glitch and that Martin may not attend.
That would be a shame as Martin is one of the
Agent's favorite Pro Mod racers. [9-22-2003]
MORE SILLY SEASON NOTES
Word out of Memphis is that if Gary Densham
does field a nitro coupe next season he will
get both parts and money help from the Force
camp. The Agent is not surprised by that

little
bit of info. John Force is the softest touch in
the pits.
The Agent spent some time with tuner Lance
Larson who was working for indie Jack
Wyatt at Memphis and will do the same for
Wyatt and Luigi Novelli at Chi-town.
Larson told the Agent that the only cars he
watches besides the nitro burners are the Pro
Mods. "I really like those cars," he said. "They're
exciting!" Amen brother.
Kobelco supercharger guru Darren Mayer
was seen tuning up Rick "Psycho" Stivers'
Pro Mod 'Vette at Memphis. Rick Cassel,
who has tuned on a lot of cars, was calling
the shots on the O'Reilly Auto Parts-backed
fueler of Scott Palmer, and Larry
Meyer made his return as a tuner for the
Texas-based fuel team of Bill Ancona.
