GIVE THE SUZUKI'S A (WEIGHT)
BREAK?
ince
the recent ten pound weight break given to the Suzukis, starting
at Memphis, I put together data to see if the Suzukis are
running quicker, slower or the same as the Harleys and deserving
of such.
I took three sets of data or paradigms of motors. The Vance
and Hines group of Andrew Hines and GT Tonglet, the DSR group
of Antron Brown and Angelle Sampey (I picked this team of
Suzukis since the rumor is that pressure on NHRA came from
this team to change the rules), and the S&S bikes of Fred
Collis, Chip Ellis and Ryan Schnitz.
I started with the Columbus race in 2004, where Fred Collis
ran for the first time with an S&S. I also threw out the
2004 and 2005 Denver races (Denver skews the data). I have
included the 2005 Brainerd race, so the stats are up-to-date.
Stats include best qualifying elapsed time and all non-aborted
elimination runs.
