DRO will post live reports from Dragstock II

By Jeff Burk
9/28/05

RO Magazine will be taking its act and its crack staff of reporters and photographers on the road to Carolina Dragway, Jackson, South Carolina, to bring our readers live, in-depth coverage of Dragstock II this coming weekend Sept 30, Oct 1-2!

Drag Racing Online’s Editor Jeff Burk will be joined by Senior Editor Ian Tocher, ADRL official photographer Roger Richards, Agent 1320 and DRO’s Art Director Matt Schramel as the team that will cover the race. We will arrive on Friday and start putting up 1320 notes, photos and results from everything that goes on at Dragstock II. Our object will be to make sure that that DRO’s coverage of the event will be the next best thing to attending one of the most—if not the most—prestigious Outlaw Doorslammer race in person.

TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE FOR DRAGSTOCK II ONLINE

If you are planning to attend Dragstock II and haven’t got your tickets yet they can be bought online through Etix.com. The advance sales have been really brisk and while there is no such thing at Dragstock (just like it’s namesake Woodstock) as sold out, getting your tickets in advance is probably a very good thing. ASHLEY, COUGHLIN NOT COMING TO
DRAGSTOCK II

Unfortunately neither NHRA Pro Mod points leader Mike Ashley or his teammate Troy Coughlin will be at the event. Ashley has a good excuse as he is going to be driving his Evan Knoll/Skull Gear backed Fuel Coupe at Chicago, but the Agent has to wonder why Troy Coughlin and tuner Chuck Ford won’t be showing up. Maybe Coughlin will be running his Cavalier at Pro Street race, or perhaps Chuck Ford just needs a little time off. Either way, the Agent will be sorry not to see the stars of NHRA legal Pro Mod action at Dragstock. [9-27-2005]

TEN-WIDES AT DRAGSTOCK?

The Agent hears rumors that more than a few of the primo Outlaw 10.5 racers are going to enter Dragstock II and run the ADRL’s Pro Nitrous class. If so, they will be giving ADRL fans a preview of what they might be seeing in 2006, should the rumored addition of an Outlaw 10.5 class for ADRL become fact. Wouldn’t it be cool if one of the Outlaw 10.5 cars made the Pro Nitrous field? [9-27-2005]
